The Gina K Designs illustrators are hopping today to share some fun ways to combine the new release stamp sets. Hope you will join us as we Mix and Match!
For my project I decided on a Project Life page.
Well, sort of....
When I ordered the pages for the Project Life album I thought "this will be perfect because I have lots of random everyday moment photos".
Well then I finally tried it.
I can tell that even though this appears simple, like everything else, there is going to be a learning curve. I started out by picking a few photos. Then added some stamping and journaling like I would do for a typical scrapbook page. But then when I finished I went and looked through my Project Life board on Pinterest. Mine didn't look anything like the typical page. lol
I have found that in general the Project Life pages are much more random than I am used to. When I started my page I looked at it like a typical scrapbook page. Everything going together, photos from the same day. I was looking at it as one page. When reality it appears that the concept behind Project Life is to combine all of life's events together. Instead on one big page with 8 photos and accents this would in most cases be more along the lines of eight mini pages. Each one telling an individual story. I was discussing this on Facebook last night and mentioned- I am random, I'm just not sure I am *that* random.
This is definitely going to take some getting used to -along with researching, and of course more time playing and pinning ideas on Pinterest... what a shame ;)
Of course, I am also going to continue with my usual scrapbook pages as well. What kind of crafter would I be if I didn't have multiple projects going at once. :)
Either way, just like that first scrapbook page I made filled with stickers, bright papers, and photos cut into shapes with decorative scissors I will keep it. As the journey continues I will then have it to look back on and not only see memories of my sweet buddy but also memories of what I have learned along the way.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, today's theme is "mix & match". All of the projects today will include at least two newly released stamp sets from Gina K Designs.
Here are the sets included on this project:
Spoon Me by Becky Oehlers
Stamp it Big by Carolyn King
and Simple Hearts by me-Tami Mayberry :)
If you haven't already, be sure to see what the other illustrators created as well:
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope yo will bookmark or subscribe to my blog and stop by again. And, if you are into project life I'd love to see some of you pages as well.

What a wonderful page, Tami! I love how you incorporated the images into the design!
Thanks for all the feedback on starting project life. it sis something I would really like to try! This looks great, sweet, sweet photos of your boy! :)
What a great page Tami, now photos.
I'm so glad you posted this Tami and wrote about the Project Life experience you are having! I have been hemming and hawing on whether or not to start my own project life..thinking it would be 'easier' than a scrapbook. I have to tell you though...I LOVE your page and, in my opinion, you can use this any way YOU want! Don't make a project life page or album for any one else's benefit besides your own..kwim?! This ROCKS!
Love your layout using different stampsets!
This is so much fun Tami! Your pages are so great! I hope you have patience enough to teach those of us that have not grasped onto scrapbooking yet! LOL! Hugs! Sean
I think your pages turned out wonderful. I shared mine today too and they are a mish mash of things it looks like but I've gotten used to it.
I've recently ordered products to start Project Life. So I'm so glad you chose to do a post on that today! Your page looks fabulous! I'm more of a "matchy uppy" kind of person so I'm drawn to your page much more than some of the very random ones I've seen...although I like that as well.
These stamp sets worked out beautifully with the page you created! ;D
Great page.
Love your scrapping. Great page
Cute, cute, cute! Love the stamps!
What a wonderful layout! Loving all those stamp sets!
I think your page is just awesome Tami! And this set, I have had to force myself to use something else, lol!

i love how you can take something and personalize it. Not sure about this project, but does it need to be like someone elses, or can you do what YOU want? Thanks for sharing. i love your blog.
Beautiful page and I love your honesty on there is always a learning curve. Wonderful page and post!
Wonderful page, Tami. I don't scrap, but I really appreciate those who do.
Very nice page! I think you can do Project Life anyway you want and do what works for you.
The images and stamps are just perfect for each other. I love using stamps with scrap pages. Stamps seem to just add that extra "oomph".
I have made scrap books but never used stamps (I'm very minimalistic!!). This is something I will definitely change in future. Love the way the stamps embellish without overpowering the pictures! Great page, Tami!
Wonderful page! - Thank you for your help by sharing how to put photos together on a page. He is so cute with those glasses!
Just started a few months ago making cards. I'll have wait awhile before I graduate to scrapbook pages but I know where I can come for inspiration.
Cute scrapbook page. Thanks for sharing!
What a wonderful "Life Page" and a great inspiration. I have never made one of these but I think I'm going to have to give it a try. It looks simpler than I had imagined it. TFS
What a nice page! And thanks for all the info and tips.
Well, I love your Project Life page and who says one has to do it all the same as everyone else...afterall, variety is the spice of life! I think is great the way you added stamped images and sentiments to it. Thanks for sharing.
Great layout and an adorable little guy. Thanks for showing us how it's done.
I have been thinking about Project Life as well. Love your layout, I like it because it's yours, so however you use it, it is right.
I learn so much from you guys it always makes me smile with inspiration. I sure don't know what any one ever did without the internet and your inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing.
Awwww what a wonderful layout!!! Don't MAKE me want to do that Project Life, GF!!! Great use of the stamps!!
Cute page.. I do not scrap because I spend enough time/money/energy on stampin'. But I enjoyed seeing your scrappin'.

Love the stamp sets. Enjoyed hearing about the Project Life. I haven't tried it but it sounds more like me than trying to do one dedicated project. It's great that their are multiple choices in projects.
Great stamp sets! Another great project! THis ladyout is great!

Great page, great layout and thanks for sharing it~
Love your layout. I have been telling my daughter about Project Life and she is going to try it. I think she will like it once she gets past the first page. I'll have her check your page out.
I can certainly relate. I found the same thing when I bought a Smash book and the accessories. I am not as random as others when putting it to use. Great job on the page though and using the new combinations of Gina K stamps.
Tami, love your layout incorporating the mix and match technique. Nice to see a scrapbook page instead of all cards! Simple Heart is so darn cute!! Brenda B
Great page, I will have to do some looking this is the first I have heard of the Project Life Pages. Loved the use of the stamp sets on this page.
What an awesome layout! Great ideas for combining the sets!
I got a kick out of your Project Life story. Trying new things does make us stretch, doesn't it? Thanks for your version of mix and match.

I love this page! I have never heard of Project Life pages....where have I BEEN?? Under a rock? Now, of course, I will have to go find your board on Pinterest and begin following. It's not like a waste THAT much time cruising Pinterest now or anything.! ( *snort* )
It's interesting to see how scrapbooking intertwines into stamping. Great work!

Thanks for been in this hop and showing us that we can also use are stamps in layouts.nice job
Your page layouts are really cute.
I think that part of what would make sense for project life pages would for it to be your life, YOUR way. I love your way as shared in this project!

I like the look of the scrapbook page on this card and will simply have to make one for a friend of mine.
It IS a great page! I have never heard of this Project Life stuff..sounds cool tho!!
Like what you did with this Thanks,
Great page, darling subject! I love how you incorporated the stamping into it. And I would think that there are no rules with regards to Project Life - it is your project and your life, so do what makes you happy.
Thanks for the scrap booking page idea. I started out doing scrap booking and then went to cards, but I need to get back. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love your page. I have put my scrapbooking aside for other projects. This encourages
me to start with it again. Thanks for sharing.
Linda D.
I like this. Are there rules to follow for Project Life? I think not...well, if you are like me, there might be some self-imposed rules ;)
Your project life page is great!
Nice.
Cute kid!
Love the page - like to see several pictures on one page because I have hundreds still to scrap.
You've created a gorgeous page!!! It takes so much courage to step out of our usual comfort zone way of doing things. I haven't done what you've done -- it's fabulous and I'm proud of you!!!!
Project Life is very different from "regular" scrapbooking. I did a picture a day for a year and am really glad I did. But I really prefer scrapbooking the old fashioned way!Love your page, though!
I can see myself doing this kind of scrapbooking, since I don't do scrapbooking at all. I like what you did.
your page couldn't have come together any more perfectly
I don't think I can bring myself to do project life.. I could *maybe* do a layout a day...
I like how you've used the stamps with the project life page however! For someone having some minor 'issues' with the setup of it all, you've done real well!
Thanks for the great ideas. Now I want to work on my pages...:)
Cute page and great use of the stamps.
I think 'Project Life' is a great idea!! I love how simple it is and effectively tells your stories..
great focal point by using the cute sentiment stamp/s

You did a super job with your page. I'm sure you will be amazed how your style will change as time goes by.
I like visiting your blog because you do scrapbooking and cardmaking. I like your project life layout and the fact the whole page is coordinated. This Simple Hearts set is so versatile now that I'm seeing all of the projects and videos using it since the release. It coordinates well with many of the other new sets. Very cute. Thanks!

I like the whole "theory" of Project Life and I love what you have created, just don't know if I could actually do it! I have enough trouble with "Real Life", too many crafts so little time! lol
